Cyclone Gabrielle emergency response

Helping communities get back on their feet with practical support.

In the wake of the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabrielle, regions around the North Island are faced with rebuilding their infrastructure, community buildings, homes and spirits.

The impact of the Cyclone, compounded in Auckland with intense flooding just weeks prior, left many families and businesses facing enormous challenges immediately following the unprecedented weather, as well as longer-term projects to ensure they are prepared for the future.

At the heart of the response are Mayoral funds, local trusts and Iwi who are activating their local knowledge and teams to effectively channel money and resources where it’s most needed, which is why Clare has donated over $150,000 across the Auckland, Tairāwhiti and Hawkes Bay Mayoral Funds, Trust Tairāwhiti, ECCT, Hawkes Bay Foundation, Vision West, Ngati Porou and Ngati Kahungunu.
