Māia Collective exists to holistically equip and empower wāhine to reach their fullest potential and create generational advantage. Now in its third year, the Collective continues to flourish with more than 70 women taking part in programmes offered this year.
Spanning three core initiatives – a flagship mentoring programme, respite care for solo mothers and community workshops – all activity is co-designed with Māori and Pasifika women.
Clare’s multi-year funding will ensure the operation costs are taken care of, as well as giving a boost to the mentoring programme, to allow the Kaiārahi leaders to focus their energy where it has the most impact.
“We love the way the Māia Collective is self-fulfilling in the way it helps wāhine,” says Clare CEO Alice Montague. “It is a unique and impactful programme and we are thrilled to be getting right behind this inspiring organisation.”
